Why Grey — Not Clear, Not Paint
Solid grey hides minor surface imperfections, oil shadows, and concrete discoloration that clear epoxy would expose. Unlike floor paint, this is a true two-part epoxy that chemically bonds to the slab — not a surface coating that sits on top and eventually peels. Before You Apply — Surface Prep is Everything
Epoxy doesn't fix dirty concrete — it locks it in. The slab must be:
- Free of oil, grease, dust, and any peeling existing coatings
- Opened via acid etching or mechanical diamond grinding — this creates the pore structure epoxy bonds to
- Completely dry — if water beads on the surface, prep is not complete
- Crack-filled — patch any cracks wider than a hairline before coating
